Kentucky Derby Controversy: ‘Country House’ Wins After ‘Maximum Security’ Disqualification

The only time of the year the mainstream pretends to care about horse racing, the Kentucky Derby, ended in controversy on Saturday!

“Maximum Security” won only to be disqualified moments later for swerving in front of two other horses on the far turn.

It took officials 22 minutes to review and end up declaring “Country House” the winner, after coming in second at 65-to-1 odds.

This is only the second time in the 145-years of the Derby where a winner has been disqualified. The first happened in 1968, when the winner failed a post-race drug test.

So congrats to “Country House” we guess! Good luck gunning for that triple crown!
