Pursuit

On August 8th at around 11:30 p.m., police observed a Cadillac passenger car in the parking lot of 235 Curtis Street. The vehicle failed to come to a stop before entering the roadway onto Curtis Street. The vehicle then turned onto Haines Avenue. A traffic stop was attempted in the area of Haines Avenue and Knollwood Drive. The vehicle stopped just prior to the Interstate-90 eastbound onramp and a female passenger exited the vehicle. As an officer began approaching the female, the male driver proceeded to turn onto the onramp and continue onto I-90. Police pursued the vehicle eastbound on I-90. While on the interstate, the driver was seen throwing an object from the vehicle. As the vehicle exited the interstate at Exit 62, police terminated the pursuit for safety reasons. A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle at 530 Bluebird Drive. The suspect driver, identified as 47-year-old Daniel Blake of Sturgis, was located hiding under a porch in the backyard of the residence. Blake taken into custody and placed under arrest for Aggravated Eluding, Littering, Driving without a Valid License, Substitution License Plates, and an existing Warrant. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
