SPOILER ALERT: If you have not seen It Chapter Two or Mary Poppins Returns, you have been warned.
There is a fan theory on Reddit (yeah, that website we just steal all of our content from) that Mary Poppins and Pennywise are of the same species and they make some pretty strong cases!
They point out both return every 20-or-so years and both get their energy from children though Mary Poppins gets hers from their joy whereas Pennywise gets his from their fear.
Parallels are also drawn between both characters’ living reflections, their love of song and dance and both of their uses for “deadlights.”
It’s all actually pretty interesting and hard to think something so evil could be the same species as someone as sweet as a “spoonful of sugar” but check it out for yourself here!
