Hungry Hungry Sinkhole Swallows City Bus

An enormous sinkhole opened up in Pittsburgh Monday at 8AM during rush hour traffic. A Port Authority public transportation bus was swallowed in the process. With half of the bus engorged by the hole, crews assumed they would be there until later in the evening.

The bus was just minding it’s own business, waiting patiently for a red light when the sinkhole opened up. The driver along with the two other passengers were able to exit the bus safely. Only one passenger was sent to a local hospital to be treated for neck pain.

The sinkhole itself was 20 feet deep and by 5 pm crews had involved the help of 2 cranes. Not only that, but the bus itself was resting on three major power lines. It was assumed businesses downtown would lose power as one is without water.
