Nurse Adopts 27-Year-Old Patient So He Can Have Heart Transplant

The world can be a scary, backwards place but as long as there are people like this nurse in Georgia, we will be alright!

Back in August, Jonathan Pinkard was rushed to the hospital and found out he needed a heart transplant.

As a 27-year-old with high functioning autism he was completely alone waiting for the transplant because he also did not have any family to care for him.

Because of his lack of a caretaker in his life, he actually was pulled from the transplant list.

One of the nurses, Lori Wood, felt like she had to do something and despite already being a single mom she offered to become his legal guardian, adopting him and making room for him in her home!

Now Pinkard has since had the surgery, has been learning from Wood how to live on his own and is returning to work in December!!
