Michigan County Seizes Man’s Property Over $8.48 Mistake

An 83-year-old Michigan man recently had his property seized by the county over $8.48 in unpaid property taxes.

One would think that an amount that minuscule wouldn’t be that huge of a deal, especially if you already paid $60,000 to purchase the property and paid all other subsequent taxes but NOPE not in Michigan!

Not only does state law allow property to be seized over an amount less than what it takes to order a pizza, but they also can auctioned it off to settle the “debt”, and keep the extra $24,500 they made!

That’s all what happened to this poor man and has happened to over 100,000 homes in the Detroit area!
