Facebook ‘Secret Sister’ Gift Exchange Turns Out To Be Illegal Pyramid Scheme

A Facebook-based pyramid scheme that started in 2015 is back for the holiday season and like many things that make the rounds of social media, it’s a scam.

We all have that friend on our list who does not check their facts or you can tell just how gullible they are based on the things they share but if they fall for this one, remind them they are a total dope.

This  “Secret Sister” gift exchange involves you buying a $10 gift for a stranger on a Facebook list, with the promise that you could receive up to 36 gifts in return.

Of course, like all pyramid schemes, it involves recruiting other people and giving your personal information out.

The Better Business Bureau even says you can actually be breaking the law by participating in this one!

So, no, we will no be buying your makeup, shampoo or any other pyramid scheme you try to wrangle people into. Stop asking.
