It’s a little difficult to imagine a world where Spiderman is NOT part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yet that nearly happened over the summer when Marvel and Sony were at a stalemate when trying to come to terms on how the two would share the character. Luckily for fans, though, Tom Holland, who has portrayed Spiderman in five films to date, helped to save Spidey from his MCU exit.
On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Holland recounted the phone call that he received from Disney CEO Bob Iger where the wheels were put in motion that would eventually culminate in a deal being struck to keep Spiderman in the MCU. A minor side note: Holland was a few pints in at a pub and playing trivia when he took the call!
