Back in 1997, Diddy dedicated a song to rapper Biggie Smalls, titled “I’ll Be Missing you” that also sampled “Every Breath You Take” by the Police. The only problem, though, was Diddy didn’t get permission.
Sting, not one to hold a grudge, and Diddy are pals…which makes sense considering Sting claimed he was still getting $2,000 a day for the sample, only for Diddy to actually correct him on Twitter recently, saying it’s even more.
