Listen, a Platypus is arguably one of the most interesting animals in existence. We can’t say we wouldn’t have any fleeting, intrusive thoughts about taking one home…but this guy in Australia actually gave in and snatched this one up from its natural environment.
He then, according to security footage, wrapped it in a towel and boarded a Queensland train, and proceeded to show the animal off to fellow passengers.
Officials, who have since renamed the platypus “Peter”, are asking the public for information on the couple as well as the safe return of the platypus as, obviously, it’s not good for this animal but also, apparently, “It may also have venomous spurs which can cause significant injury to people and animals.”
