Ed Sheeran has become the unofficial soundtrack to weddings and retail spaces everywhere with his song, “Thinking Out Loud”, being among the biggest.
However, the impact that song has had on couples, it may have also had an impact on the estate of the late Marvin Gaye as the song has similar chord structure to Gaye’s hit “Let’s Get It On.”
The case has been going on for a while now, and it has recently gone to trial. A trial, in which, Ed Sheeran says if he loses, his career will be done. ““I find it really insulting to work my whole life as a singer-songwriter and diminish it,” he said.
Of course, while he thinks he is innocent, he certainly did not help his case when he recently performed a mashup of the two songs in question in front of a live audience…
