There are certain truths each kid comes to realize as they grow up. From your teachers actually having real lives outside of school to your parents being anything other than a parent at one point in time.
While this child seems a little too old to finally be coming to this realization, this kid is learning his mom’s name was, and has always been, Heidi and not just “mom.”
