Nobody enjoys tax season, but for the many folks that end up owing way more than they anticipated, it’s a real punch to the gut.
Imagine if you were Mount Joy, Pennsylvania’s Barry Tangert, who opened his mail to find an envelope from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue with an “income tax billing notice” letting him know he owed the state $34,576,826,561.47.
Apparently, Tangert’s tax guy had filed an amendment to fix an error on his 2022 return which may have caused a computer glitch.
Luckily, Tangert called the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and was able to get it resolved.
