Welcome to the Black Hills’ 4th Annual POW/MIA 5K Run/Walk!
Over 83,000 American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines are still listed as “Missing In Action.” We gather each year to honor their memory as well as saying “Thank You” to all those who have ever worn the uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
The 5K will start at 8:00AM at the South Dakota Air & Space Museum, through the city of Box Elder, and back to the Museum. On-site registration will start at 7:00AM.
Over sixty percent of all funds raised will be donated to local military & veteran organizations and to support our local outreach efforts. The remaining funds will be donated equally to The Gary Sinese Foundation, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and The Air Force Assistance Fund.
Registration fee prior to September 8 is $20. After September 8 registration is $25. Commemorative event T-shirts are available for the first 100 registered. If you wish to only receive a race bib and donate 100% of your registration fee, please select the “opt-out” t-shirt option while registering.
First place male, female, and youth (under age 12) finishers will each receive a $50 gift card.
Since our innaugural run in 2015 we’ve helped to raise nearly $18,000 to support the military and veterans around the world and right here in the Black Hills. For 2018, our goal is to raise $17,000…symbolic of the 17,000 Airmen from Ellsworth AFB who have deployed around the world since September 2011.
