Albany Friends, What Do We Think of This Rebecca Lobo Comment During NCAA Tournament Broadcast?

As the NCAA tournaments wind down, ESPN’s Rebecca Lobo is catching heat from residents and people who love one of the host cities, Albany, New York after a comment she made during the broadcast of highly-anticipated game between Iowa and LSU.

Lobo and her cohost Ryan Ruocco were talking about Caitlin Clark and how her family wanted to get together with her while they were in town. Apparently, Clark told them to find something to do because she was not going to leave her room, to which Lobo added, “good luck finding something to do in Albany.”

Now, we know as well as anyone else, that Albany is fabulous! We can understand why people would defend New York’s capital region.

Following the remark, and subsequent criticism, Lobo responded on X, “I’ve spent many fun-filled weekends in the Albany area over the years coaching my kids’ AAU teams. No shade intended towards the capital city and the outstanding job they did hosting the regional.”
