In racing, it’s not often an announcer has to be the one to tell officials what to do down on the track, but that’s what happened during a recent race at the Jacksonville Speedway in Piney Green, North Carolina.
During the Midwest Open Wheel Association Sprint Car Series race, a car flipped. That should have been enough to capture track officials’ attention, but they still let drivers continue to lap the track THREE TIMES. As onlookers wondered when the race would be flagged under caution, the announcer in the booth wondered the same and let his feelings be known.
“Throw the caution flag! Is anybody paying attention?!? HELLO!?! WE JUST HAD A CAR FLIP OVER,” he alerted. “THROW THE RED FLAG, WHAT ARE WE DOING!?!? COME ON!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!?!? PAY ATTENTION!!”
It’s unclear if people on the track could actually hear him or not, but it would truly be pretty shocking if they didn’t!
