Every Homecoming since 1995, someone has been sneakily hauling a pumpkin up to the spire of the University of Montana’s Main Hall and sticking it up there for all to see and for few to know who put it there.
This year, on the tradition’s 30th year, one person who’s been involved in the pumpkin pandemonium but supposedly has never had the “cojones” to make the climb himself spilled a few inside secrets. We’re not sure if we believe he’s never done it, though, as he sure seemed to know a lot about things like the hidden fire escape, the slippery green roof, lookout, stealthy team work and more.
However, while no one’s ever confessed, the university has tried to take steps to keep the tradition alive in a safer way, but the Great Pumpkin Heist remains an unsolved mystery carried out by stealthy students!
