Iowa Bar Facing Threats and Drake University Coach Fired Over Guy in Hitler Costume

A guy showed up at Miss Kitty’s Bar’s Halloween party in Clive, Iowa dressed head-to-toe as a Nazi (yes, swastika armband, iron cross medallion, the works), and now several people are learning what it means to be “guilty by association” in the court of public opinion.

While some members of the bar’s staff responded to initial complaints with “it’s a costume”, the man was allowed to stay and a Drake University volunteer hockey coach took the opportunity to get a smiling photo with him as he held up a salute and everything.

The coach was relieved of her duties while the owner of the bar now faces anger from the community, death threats and says he accepts his mistake, promising new costume rules in the future.

Lesson learned: if someone shows up to the “monster mash” with a Hitler ‘stache, the only “graveyard smash” will be your reputation.
