When you own a pool, it’s not entirely surprising to find critters in there from time to time, but you definitely never expect to see two horses playing mermaids (or rather, SEAhorses?).

For this Middletown, Kentucky homeowner, two adventurous horses decided a nearby pasture was too boring and opted for a pool party instead!

That was all fun and games until one of them couldn’t muster enough horse-power to get out of the pool and local police officers were saddled with the task of getting it out! They whipped out a garden hose to use as a makeshift lasso, and heroically escorted the soggy stud to the stairs and out.

The horse trotted away with only a few scrapes, the NEIGH-borhood got a legendary tale, and one cop joked he’d trade his gun for a lasso any day.
