Are Street Signs Actually Melting in the Crazy El Paso Heat?

The residents aren’t entirely sure what they’re seeing, the city says it’s not like that, but the guy who makes the signs says another. All these differing reports, one thing remains the same, it is entirely too hot in the American Southwest.

In El Paso, Texas, some residents believe the intense heat is causing the street signs to melt. However, if you take a closer look, it actually looks like the letters are simply peeling up. The city says this phenomenon is not caused by the heat at all and is just regular wear and tear, which also does not seem correct.
