Pickleball has had quite the rise in popularity over the years but some people would rather see the sport go up in flames.
In Santa Monica, it appears there is someone who just can’t stand to see the joy the sport brings as the storage shed at the Santa Monica Pickleball Club was set ablaze, destroying thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
Authorities are still searching for a suspect who decided to commit arson at the nonprofit where the public can learn and play the sport for free.
Could it be a private instructor who is losing business? Maybe a tennis instructor who refuses to accept the hodge-podge sport? Could it even be as simple as someone who hates the sounds of the sport? Only time will tell.
