‘Finder’s Keepers’ Not Helping Maine Man Who Picked Up Over $7K from Street in Kennebunk

Police in Kennebunk, Maine are looking for a man who “finder’s keepers-ed” too close to the sun after he stuffed a young man’s lost cash in his pockets, despite being confronted by the dude’s dad!

The young man accidentally left $7,400 on the roof of his car after selling a vehicle and didn’t realize it had all fluttered onto the street.

Eventually his dad went back out to look for the cash and stumbled upon a bold opportunist in a blue shirt and brown pants shoving as much cash as he could into his pockets. The dad confronted him and caught it all on his dashcam as the guy drove off in a dark grey Honda CR-V.

No, local police are quick to clarify that this is not a “windfall” or “found money” but rather, “theft of mislaid or lost property.”

Because we have lots of idiots in the area, if you recognize this dude or know where this money could have ended up, you’re encouraged to call the Kennebunk Police Department and Officer David Brown at 207-985-6121, ext. 1637.
