Please join us as we gather the “herd” of painted buffalo and auction them off Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 in downtown Custer and Custer State Park.

The collection of this year’s life-sized buffalo, table-top buffalo and free-form art will be rounded up for the auction beginning with the public viewing and an artist reception on Friday, Sept. 30 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at First Interstate Bank, 648 Mt. Rushmore Road, in Custer, SD. Refreshments will be served, and the reception is free and open to the public.

On Saturday morning, the artwork will be displayed at the Custer Stampede booth from 10:00 AM until the auction at noon at the Custer State Park Roundup Arts Festival Grounds. The festival grounds are located in Custer State Park in the meadow across from the Peter Norbeck Educational Center.

Anyone interested in obtaining a bid number can pick one up at the Stampede booth starting at 10am. The auction will take place at noon under the Entertainment Tent. Buyers of life-size buffalo need to be prepared to transport their piece after the auction. People unable to attend the auction, but who wish to bid on a piece, can obtain a sealed bid form from the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce. Sealed bid forms are due to the Chamber by Sept. 28.
