The 12th annual Dublin Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 17. The event is sponsored by the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology’s American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
Entry is open to the public and runners may preregister online here. Early registration for Mines students and Black Hills Runners Club members is $15 and $20 for the public. Early registration ends at noon on March 16. Race-day registration and check-in is from 8-8:45 a.m. and is $25 for all participants. The 5K race begins at the SD Mines O’Harra Stadium and ends at the site of old Memorial Park tennis courts, near Eighth and Omaha.
The Dublin Dash is the main fundraiser for the School of Mines AIChE. Race proceeds help defray costs for Mines students to attend national and regional conferences, as well as fund community outreach efforts and student scholarships.
Prizes are awarded to individuals and groups with the most original costumes. A post-race ceremony is planned for Murphy’s Pub downtown.
