28th Annual Great Black Hills Duck Race

July 30, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The 28th Annual Great Black Hills Duck Race provides participants the opportunity to give generously to help local sick and injured children, while competing for a chance to win $1 million. The event, which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at Regional Health, takes to the water of Rapid Creek Sunday, July 30, when up to 16,000 rubber ducks will compete in a 1.5 mile float to the finish line at Memorial Park.

The cost to enter a duck in the race is $5. Ducks can be sponsored for the race until 11:30 a.m. on race day at the West Main Street McDonald’s, unless they are sold out in advance. Those who sponsor five ducks for $25 will receive a free duck race T-shirt. Ducks also can be purchased from Duck Race teams across the community; at the Regional Health Foundation office, located at 2925 Regional Way, Suite 100; or ordered online at the Regional Health website at regionalhealth.org/cmn. Registration forms also are located throughout the community at area businesses.

Children’s Miracle Network helps make medical miracles happen for children throughout the region served by Regional Health. With money raised through special events like the Duck Race, medical equipment and funding for children’s programs and services is made possible. One hundred percent of the money raised stays local.

For more information about CMN or the Great Black Hills Duck Race, call Shawn Powers, Children’s Miracle Network program coordinator for the Regional Health Foundation, at 605-755-9192.
