No minimum age requirement for young showers but no assistance in the ring, they may also enter the Beginner division in Showmanship.
This is an OPEN youth show, ages 8-21 years old.
The Central States Fair offers youth shows in sheep, goats, pigs and beef with approximately $20,000 paid out in livestock premium monies. Youth sheep, goats and swine will be shown on Friday, Aug. 19. Youth Beef and Black Hills Gold Youth Beef Futurity on Saturday, Aug. 20.
The dates for the 2022 Central States Fair Livestock Shows are:
Friday, Aug. 19: Youth Swine, Goat & Sheep Show
Saturday, Aug. 20: Youth Beef and Black Hills Gold Beef Futurity
Wednesday, Aug. 24: Pen of Three Beef Show
All youth shows are sanctioned with the SD Junior Point Show, an organization devoted to promote youth livestock shows in South Dakota. Participants can exhibit in a number of regional shows throughout the year to gain points for state titles.
