Children of all ages are invited to the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) to meet author Jessie Taken Alive Rencountre, hear her award-winning story “Pet’a Shows Misun the Light,” and create an expression of kindness to share. Our Kindness Can Change the World event is Monday, October 8 from 3:30 – 5 p.m.
Rencountre’s book won won the 2017 Great Plains Emerging Tribal Writer’s Award. She lives in Rapid City with her husband and four daughters where she teaches the JAG (Jobs for American’s Graduates) program at Rapid City High School. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from South Dakota State University.
“Pet’a Shows Misun the Light” will be available for sale during the author’s appearance.
