The downtown library building will open to the public with safety measures in place on Wednesday, June 3. Building occupancy will be limited to 75 individuals with mouth and nose coverings mandatory. Social distancing will also be required and seating throughout the library and at the public computers has been arranged to accommodate this. Additionally, individuals are asked to limit their visit to the library for one hour at a time in order to allow for others to receive services in the building. Children 11 and under must have a caregiver with them while in the library building.
There will also be special hours for particular groups. Tuesdays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. has been set aside for families with young children and Wednesdays from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. is for seniors and those with compromised immune systems.
For everyone’s safety, the library has decided to cancel the movies scheduled for June 5, 14 and 19.
The public is asked to continue to use the drive-thru for picking up and dropping off materials due to the limited capacity of the building. Virtual services and events as well as the digital library collection are still available.
The General Beadle branch library remains closed at this time.
