The Cody Blackbird Band returns to the downtown library Wednesday, September 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) on the final leg of their tour! Utilizing traditional Native American instruments, they honor the sacred music of their ancestors while bringing the sounds to a new generation of listeners.
Cody plays Native American wooden flute; his brother Caleb keeps the heartbeat of the powwow in their songs with traditional hide skin drum. Add the 60s psychedelic guitar sounds of Will Benjamin and the solid foundation of Adrian D Thomas on bass, and you have the 2017 Native American Music Awards Group of the Year—The Cody Blackbird Band.
