National Seed Swap Day at the Downtown Library

January 28, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Gardening basics begin with the first element, seeds. You are invited to the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) on National Seed Swap Day, Saturday, January 28 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Rick and Michelle Grosek from Bear Butte Gardens will be on hand to talk about gardening in the Black Hills. Learn how to judge seed viability by germinating seeds. Attendees will have the opportunity to swap seeds they purchased or harvested from their own gardens helping to cultivate heirloom or rare varieties of plants. We will also provide seeds to take home in labeled envelopes. Seeds obtained locally will grow well locally. Also, meeting and exchanging ideas with other local gardeners is always fun!
