Scouting for Food- Donation Bag Pick Ups

November 3, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

1,300 area Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts come together with other local organizations to fight hunger over two weekends!

On Saturday November 3rd the Scouts will be out again collecting the food bags from the local communities. This food drive, which has happened in the Black Hills communities for over 20 years, involves over 1,300 youth in the Western communities of South Dakota.

Please place the nonperishable non opened food in the bag and leave the bag on your porch by 8:00am on Saturday, November 3rd. Scouts will pick up the food donations after 8:00am. If you do not get a food bag on your door and would like to help out with this worthy cause you can bring a bag of food to either Family Fare Store in Rapid City between the hours of 9am-Noon on Saturday, November 3rd where the South Dakota National Guard will be collecting food bags. If you want to participate and are in the outlying communities you can take your food to the local community food bank.

Last year, Black Hills Area Council Scouts and volunteers collected over 13,000 pounds of food for local food bank needs. This year we are asking for non perishable non-opened containers of food!

Black Hills Area Council is partnering with Feeding South Dakota, Love Inc. in the Rapid City area and numerous other locations in the communities of Custer, Piedmont, Spearfish, Hill City, Hot Springs, Belle Fourche, and Lead/Deadwood. Please help us help our local communities.
