After bringing the house down with an incredible performance in 2014, the Avett Brothers make their return to Deadwood Mountain Grand on Tuesday, June 14th at 8pm.
The Avett Brothers’ music has roots in traditional folk and bluegrass, but also captures the high spirits and no-boundaries attitude of rock & roll – which is appropriate, since rock is where Scott and Seth Avett first cut their teeth as musicians. Although the brothers started making music together as children, their group’s genesis began when they were members of Nemo, a rock band that gigged regularly in Greenville, North Carolina. Looking for another outlet, the Avetts began getting together with like-minded friends where they’d share drinks and swap songs. This group, called “the Back Door Project” eventually became the Avett Brothers and the rest, as they say, is history.
