The HOPE Center will host an Open House Event on May 12, 2016, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, at their facility at 615 Kansas City Street, Rapid City, SD. This event will include a ribbon-cutting to officially open the new “Soap for HOPE” laundry facility provided by the Leadership Rapid City Class of 2014, plus its new computer lab provided by DARCEO, Inc. & Members of LRC 2015. Though we revealed our new logo and mission statement in April, they will also be highlighted during the event. “We’re excited about these new changes to our marketing brand and programming,” states Anna Quinn, Executive Director for the HOPE Center. “Thanks to the hard work and generous donations of the Leadership Rapid City Class of 2014 and DARCEO, Inc., LRC 2015, and many community sponsors, we are now able to provide free laundry services and computer access to our guests and other people who are living in poverty or without homes.” 

The HOPE Center is a drop-in day center for individuals living in poverty and for those without homes. The Center provides advocacy for individuals looking to make positive changes in their lives and to move out of poverty. We provide a warm, safe environment where community members can access resources and get referrals to community agencies; a mailing address for individuals who may not have a permanent and/or stable address (over 1832 individuals currently use this address for job applications, to receive mail, and for other mail services); a permanent phone number and messaging service for those in the community who may not have a phone or permanent phone number; official document/personal storage to ensure our guests’ critical items will not be lost or stolen; and various life skills and support services to reduce the impact of the

crisis of poverty.
