Florida Cop Mistakes Sound of Acord Hitting Cruiser for Shots Fired, Unloads Entire Clip in Response

Back in November, Okaloosa County, Florida Deputy, Jesse Hernandez, had a moment he likely hoped would never leave the squad room, and is now probably extremely disappointed as it has since gone viral.

Hernandez had an unarmed, handcuffed guy in the back of his squad car, and was outside standing next to it when he thought he heard the guy fire shots in his direction.

Later it was discovered the sound was simply an acorn hitting the roof of the cruiser, but in the moment, Hernandez proceeded to declare “shots fired!” prompting him to begin shooting toward the car himself, as well as his partner.

Luckily, the guy inside the car wasn’t hit, and neither were either of the two dingus officers.
