At around 12:25 a.m. on January 31st, Rapid City police were advised of a pursuit which had originated in Meade County and was about to enter Rapid City on Sturgis Road. Police units responded to assist in the pursuit of suspect SUV. Officers were able to successfully deploy stop sticks on the SUV in the area of West Main Street and Mountain View Road. The vehicle continued eastbound on West Main Street which turned in Saint Joseph Street. At the intersection of Saint Joseph Street and 4thStreet, the vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop. The driver and passengers were ordered out of the vehicle. As police worked to identify the occupants, it was determined that all eight of the occupants were juveniles. Since they are juveniles, I am unable to disclose identities or charges, but all occupants of the vehicle were accounted for and safe. They will be appropriately held accountable through the justice system.
