15 Cars Fall Through The Ice At Lake Geneva Winterfest (Video)

For most people, not parking your car on ice is just common sense.  After all, it’s ice. Ice can crack and in most cases, there’s really, really cold water underneath it.  So who in their right mind would risk parking a car that weighs a few thousand pounds on top of something that could crack under stress?  Attendees of Lake Geneva’s Winterfest, that’s who!

On Saturday afternoon, 15 vehicles took a swim when the the thin ice cracked under the pressure of the parking lot on top of it.  Fortunately, no one was injured when the cars took the plunge.  People were parking on the ice because of the overcrowded parking areas and ended up paying a pretty high price for those spots.

A special team of divers had to be called in to retrieve the vehicles.  But we believe that if these people were dumb enough to park on the ice, they should have been responsible for getting their cars out on their own.
