Adam Sandler use to be an American treasure, but then there was ‘Little Nicky,’ ‘Jack and Jill,’ and ‘Pixels.’ But every once in a while, people look back on his old movies and think “Hey, he WASfunny!” Someone who felt this recently was Olympian Galen Rupp, when he watched the Sandler classic, ‘Happy Gilmore.’ But instead of comedic hilarity, Rupp instead found inspiration in the film!
In a post-race interview, Rupp claimed he had found the strength to win a bronze medal in the marathon event after watching the movie the night before. And perhaps the craziest part? This was only the second time that Rupp has ever run the 26.2 mile marathon distance! Adam Sandler truly is inspiring!
