If you don’t like drinking fecal matter you may want to put your coffee mug you got from the office cabinet down and walk away.
According to this article by the New York Post, 20 percent of the mugs actually carry fecal matter. The culprit? It’s actually carried in the communal sponge everyone uses to clean them (unless you have a dishwasher, then you’re good).
A study found bacteria on 20 percent of the mugs before wiping and 100 percent of the mugs after wiping.
So now you know to bring your own mugs and wash them often or use disposable ones!
