A Brutally Honest Reporter Sets Out To See Why People Buy Lotto Tickets (Video)

At least this reporter is very realistic about his and anyone else’s chances of winning the lottery, despite the extremely unlikely odds of winning why do people buy them?

To answer that, say hello to Brody Logan from Washington DC’s Fox .

Logan went out to ask people live on TV why they were buying lotto tickets.

One lady was buying five tickets, which is about $10. Logan then asks how much a lighter would cost and told her she could buy a lighter, set the rest of the $10 on fire and at least you’d still have the lighter and entertainment of fire to show for your money spent.

He says he understands the logic of “you can’t win unless you play” but Logan argues there are many other things you could spend money on that won’t essentially be a waste, like beef jerky.

All in all, Brody Logan is “anti-lottery…officially” however, we can all agree on the odds of winning but we’re still banking on splitting millions someday. Aren’t we all?
