Seth Meyers’ Golden Globes Monologue Throws Jabs At Men Of Hollywood (Video)

2017 was the year of women coming forward and the downfall of many powerful white men in Hollywood. So, naturally, the night meant to honor the films and very people who are often wrapped up in scandal should be filled with jokes and commentary.

Seth Meyers opened the 75th annual Golden Globes with a monologue filled with jokes about the bad HW, Kevin Spacey, and like every awards show since 2016, President Trump.

“Good evening ladies and remaining gentlemen,” Meyers began.

He then went on to point out he was not the “most powerful” Seth in the room and the camera panned to Seth Rogen.

“Remember when he was the one causing problems with North Korea,” said Meyers drawing comparison to Rogen’s movie The Interview and President Trump’s issues with Kim Jong Un.

Women wore black dresses in solidarity with sexual assault victims and it was a hot topic throughout the show, including pretty incessant jokes from Meyers.

Meyers addressed the “elephant not in the room,” Harvey Weinstein and also said he would be the first person booed in their future “in memoriam.”

There were also jabs at Kevin Spacey but jokes aside, there were many powerful and serious words spoken by award-winners such as Oprah Winfrey.

So another awards show down, another night of wonderful internet content.
