Cubs Pitcher Jon Lester Will Be Bouncing All Of His Throws To First Base This Year (Video)

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester is an ace on the mound. But like a lot of great players, Lester has a case of the yips. “What are the yips?,” you may ask? When a player gets a case of the yips, they pretty much lose the ability to do simple things that they should be more than able to do. And in the case of Lester, his yips come in the form of not being able to throw the ball to first base accurately. That’s right, he can throw a pitch a million miles per hour to home plate, but when it comes to tossing the ball to first, no go.

Lester has come up with a way to conquer his yips. This year, he’ll be bouncing the ball to first any time he has to make a play. And as you’ll see in the video clip below, things aren’t working out very well so far during Spring Training.

It’s going to be a long season for Cubs fans, especially when Lester is on the mound!
