On March 10th around 1:55 a.m., an officer was on foot patrol in the downtown area when he was approached by a group of individuals who advised that a passenger vehicle had just struck two parked cars in the 800 block of Main Street. The officer arrived at the location and attempted to make contact with the driver of the passenger vehicle. The driver closed the door to the vehicle and attempted to drive away. The officer was able to successfully remove the driver from the vehicle before this could happen. The driver was identified as 25-year-old Dillon Robinson of Rapid City. The officer noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from Robinson’s person. Following the subsequent DUI investigation, Robinson was placed under arrest for DUI (3rd Offense) before being transported to the Pennington County Jail.
