DUI Crash

On May 15th around 1:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of 5th Street and Cathedral Drive for a report of a single vehicle that had crashed into a light pole. The vehicle was smoking heavily. The driver of the car was unconscious, and police were able to get her out of the car. In the process of helping both occupants exit the vehicle, police observed a number of open alcohol containers within the car. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Brittany Twobulls of Rapid City, regained consciousness. Police noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. It was determined she was too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle. The other passenger in the vehicle was transported from the scene via ambulance for the treatment of serious, life-threatening injuries. Ultimately, Twobulls was placed under arrest for DUI (3rd), Vehicular Battery, Open Container in a Vehicle, and Careless Driving. She was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
