The RCPD is investigating a homicide by stabbing that occurred early this morning at a residence in the 2600 block of Castle Heights Place in West Rapid City. We have arrested 32-year-old Lorraine Swallow of Rapid City for 2nd degree Murder. She is being held at the Pennington County Jail. This is the 3rd homicide this year in Rapid City. The RCPD would like to thank the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Rapid City Fire Department, who assisted us through the night as we conducted this investigation. We would also like to express our condolences to the victim’s family. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
