There’s a new genderless voice assistant called ‘Q’ that works like Alexa or Siri, but neither male nor female to be gender-neutral.
Researchers recorded voices from people who identify as non-binary and then tested them on thousands of people to have them rank if they thought the voice was male or female.
They played with different pitches and frequencies and “whatta bing whatta boom” we have ‘Q’.
It was launched by a startup and they hope ‘Q’ can get picked up by Google and/or Apple!
As long as it actually can understand you and do what you need it to do, this artificial voice could be Puff The Magic Dragon for all we care…yeah that’s a dig at you Siri, get it together girl!
