On May 1st at around 11:25 a.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Mountain View Road for a report of a subject who had just been run over in the intersection. On arrival, witnesses directed police toward a Subaru Outback in the parking lot at 1116 Jackson Boulevard. Police made contact with the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Anthony Williamson of Rapid City. Police noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Police learned from witnesses that Williamson was seen stopped at the intersection. As the Subaru entered the intersection, the driver’s door opened and Williamson fell out of the vehicle. The rear wheel of the Subaru rolled over Williamson’s legs. A witness was able to run up to the vehicle and stop it from rolling further. A medical unit evaluated Williamson on scene and he declined further treatment. Following a DUI investigation, Williamson was placed under arrest for DUI before being transported to the Pennington County Jail.
